Since inception in 2015, NLC has been focusing on developing and commercialising technologies with a focus on medical devices, Biotech, and digital solutions.

Your role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Venture Partner to play a pivotal role in NLC's ongoing global expansion. The Venture Partner will be responsible for expanding our United States presence, including partnering with universities and investors, and expanding our venture portfolio in the US. In addition to this, they will play a leading role in expanding our existing partnership with leading global Healthtech companies. Your key responsibilities will encompass lead generation, negotiating and securing agreements with IP holders, assembling a proficient venture team, and providing unwavering support throughout the technology development process. You will also lead collaborations between large Healthtech companies and NLC and its ventures, such as venture- and NLC fund investments, corporate-venture collaborations, and venture exits. This position offers a dynamic and stimulating environment where you will have the autonomy to take ownership and foster enduring partnerships based on mutual trust and long-term commitment.

Activities include

  • Cultivate enduring relationships with institutions and corporates in the HealthTech sector in order to establish partnerships for the development and commercialisation of potential technologies
  • Enhance our global network of investors, experts and entrepreneurs in the MedTech industry, specifically in the United States.
  • Together with the existing team further develop our integrated US approach (proposition, processes and team)
  • Generate and assess leads in close collaboration with our Technology/IP Assessment team, Venture Developers and Venture Finance experts
  • Negotiate licensing agreements and partnerships with IP-owners and inventors in close collaboration with the Legal team
  • Select a CEO to lead each new venture together with our Venture Teaming experts
  • Set-up ventures together with the Legal team
  • Actively support a portfolio of ventures and be a sparring partner and connector for the venture’s CEO
  • Represent NLC as the founding shareholder in the ventures

Your profile

  • You offer 10+ years of experience in a leading commercial role in the healthtech industry
  • You have a track record in entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of building early stage teams, fundraising, product development and clinical and regulatory development
  • You have a relevant network in the US, particularly in the Healthtec academic and corporate world, and have the capacity to build on this further
  • You are a natural connector and can close deals by building effective relationships and coalitions
  • Strong alignment with our company culture and values, characterised as Together, Open, Decisive and Optimistic
  • You enjoy both coaching and inspiring others as well as being the driving force
  • Fluent in English. Ideally but not necessarily you are business proficient in another European language;
  • Based in Amsterdam, the job will require regular presence in the Amsterdam office with plenty of flexibility to work remotely
